PETROL BOWSER, Hand Pump

T1976.261

Hand-operated 'Shell' brand petrol pump with a tall, narrow squared body painted yellow with a red stripe on each side and a 'Shell' logo in red and yellow on front and back. Above the body is a cylindrical glass chamber with an internal metal rod to which gallon markers are attached (1/2 to 6 gallons). The chamber is clipped by a square metal lid surmounted by a white glass scalloped shell logo (3 dimensional). 'Shell' is written across the logo in red; a light would probably illuminate the glass. The pump has a cloth hose attached to one side, with nozzel hooked onto the front of the pump. A lever on the front allows the amount of petrol to be selected; a handle on the right side would pump the petrol.
