PEN NIB EXTRACTOR

Inscribed 'WATERLOW/ & SONS/ LIMITED'.
Small, oblong-shaped device with wooden shaft and hinged brass end. The hinged portion opens to 90 degree to reveal a steel nib-shaped slot into which a nib would be placed prior to extraction from a pen. The hinged portion would then fold down against the wooden shaft, effecting a grip by means of which the nib could be pulled out of the pen.
One side of the device is deeply grooved. A metal stud or nail is inserted into one end.
