Glazed yellow earthenware teapot, shading to orange base; painted bran of green and grey leaves and three brown fruit one side; moulded cicada on branch, painted black grey and brown; small high spout and side handle; top handle; small lid with nob; mark: black crossed keys; rectangular paper label: "faiencerie de / St-jean-du- desert / = Marseille ="; torn circular label, writing illegible. Signed to right of cicad "L.Berty.
