Emu egg elaborately carved with Australian animals and scenes, an lucky symbols; signed: "J.W. SADLIER / CARVER" under coat of arms panel; in to course: clockwise: lyrebird; horse's head and shoe; bat; stag; goanna; triple fish; lion; cockatoo; in middle course: medallions, unofficial coat-of-arms of Australia surmounted by rising sun, with motto "ADVANCE AUSTRALIA"; Sydney Hea at sunrise (so inscribed); mare and foal; cattle at bore, inscribed: "AN ARTESIAN SPRAY"; lowest course: black swan; bunch of grapes; platypus; bird, nest in tree; mountain devil; harp and shamrocks; clasped hands; camel.
