Landscape, oil on chipboard, depicting Newark Castle? amongst the treed hillside and a stream flowing in the valley below. A couple (carrying a primitive plough) ) are walking on a pathway on the right and a flock of black-faced sheep graze on a meadow on the left bank of the river. Birds (tiny) are flying through the overcast sky. The back of the painting has fragments of the label of the framing and mounting firm "C.R. Tompkins" on it and glued paper associated with the framing (now removed).The artist has signed the painting on the bottom right hand corner, possibly 'W Weir'
