BOOK: Pocket sized,'Macmillan's Pocket Kipling', red leather cover with gilt-tooled decoration on the spine and a gilded, encircled elephant on the front. 'THE/JUNGLE/BOOK/ RUDYARD/KIPLING' is printed in gold on the spine. A torn fragment of the bookseller adheres to the inside of the front cover The printing is in black and illustrations by 'J.L. KIPLING, W.H.DRAKE and P.FRENZENY'. The edition was published in 1922 in London by Macmillan and Co Ltd. An inscription to 'Patsy Anderson/with love from/Monty Baleton/25/4/25' is written in ink on the inside of the first page.
