CORONATION MEDAL & BOX, George VI

H2002.18.1-2

(.1) Silver coloured medal attached to red, blue and white ribbed cotton textile with horizontal metal pin at top of ribbon. One side of the medal is embossed around the edge "GEORGE VI QVEEN ELIZABETH.". In the centre is a crown, above the words "GRI/CROWNED/12 MAY 1937". On reverse of the medal are two profiles of heads of George VI and Queen Elizabeth, with George VI in foreground.

(.2) Dark brown velvet covered square box, with pale brown velvet lining in base of box, and pale brown satin lining in lid of box. Top edge of base edged in gold. Printed in lid of box "CARIS BROS. LTD/JEWELLERS/HAY STREET/PERTH./KALGOORLIE/& BUNBURY".
