Below are the words 'Assimilation/ OF OUR ABORIGINES'. Inside the cover there is a drawing of an Aboriginal hand making patterns in sand? Below this 'Masters of visual instruction/ Prepared under the authority of the Minister for Territories/,....for use by the National/ Aborigines' Day Observance Committee and its Associates in/ connexion with the celebration of National Aborigines' Day in/ Australia, 11th July, 1959.' The small booklet enclosed includes information on the meaning of assimilation and 4 black and white photographs relating to Aboriginal employment and living conditions.
