Metal printing plate nailed at four corners to wood veneer block: plate features the Coat of Arms of Australia with emu and kangaroo on either side - the word 'AUSTRALIA' within a scroll below. Underneath the crest, a semi circle with an archer in the centre, standing on a round globe flanked by wings. Around the periphery of semi-circle the words 'POST OFFICE/ COMMUNICATIONS'.
