Framed certificate of the 'INDEPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES', paper glued (?) to canvas backing, stretched onto pine frame. Frame has cotton braid border.
Certificate is a dispensation giving permission for the establishment of a fremantle 'Good Endevour' tent no. 44.
Certificate is printed in the style of a handwritten illumination, with the emblem of the society featured at the top of the document; two female angels flank a shield; underneath are the words 'PEACE & PLENTY/ THE REWARD OF TEMPERANCE'. The document is signed by the officials of the organisation, and is dated 1875.
