Below in two columns of smaller lettering gives a brief history of the 'TOLPUDDLE MARTYRS' who were transported to Australia in 1830s for forming a trade union. Explains the position of Australian trade unions today i.e. 2.8 million members and 142,000 decision making and representative positions. Goes on to outline the number of full-time officials, honorary senior officials and delegates and Union Job Representatives.
Ends with 'DEMOCRATIC, COMPLEX, OPERATING/ IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF LEGISLATION, AWARDS/ AND TRIBUNALS/ TODAY'S UNIONISM'. Then 'TUTA. A PART OF TODAY'S UNIONISM./ AUSTRALIAN TRADE UNION TRAINING AUTHORITY'.
