FRAMED PHOTOGRAPH, Kalgoorlie Loco Football Club-1909
H1991.7
Wooden frame carved with stylised trees and with an inner plain gold border. The photograph is of the players and administrators of the Kalgoorlie Loco Football Club in 1909 - the football is marked: "L.F.C./PREMIERS/1908". The mount is printed "KALGOORLIE LOCO FOOTBALL CLUB - 1909 / PRESENTED BY GEORGE CASEY ESQ TO M.L. WHYTE (CAPTAIN)".The mount also names those photographed: all 26 are listed in an article on the presentation of the photograph to the Museum (see Supplementary File) of the Goldfields. Information with the photograph dated 20.12.78 suggests that the photograph was given to Colin Dhue, a railway guard at Northam, by Matty Whyte. Whyte captained the team in 1959, was a railway guard in Toodyay and died about 1960.
