Soap-dish modelled as a dragon fly seated on the edge of a pond in blu green, and mauve colours. Impressed on back ' Specially designed & \ manufactured by the ROYAL DOULTON POTTERIES \ for the Proprietors of \ WRIGHT' \ COALTAR SOAP' plus inscribed artist's initials 'H.B.' Similar style items illustrated in R. Dennis Doulton Stoneware Pottery, Numbers 505-521 produced in the first quarter of the 20thC. Wright's Coaltar soap is advertised in Harrods 1895 catalogue, page 84 and Army and Navy Stores 1907 Catalogue, page 38.
