Thick, bluish glaze. Printed pattern in underglaze green and buff in holly pattern with overglaze red enamel. Scalloped edge with yellow band. Moulded scroll base and tall stem foot. Impressed mark 'DAVENPORT \ ' and printed mark: '(wreath of holly with) HOLLY \ DAVENPORT. 'Ref. Godden, Encyclopaedia, page 189 no. 1181a. Christie's 16 Aug. lot 217a. (also uses term tazza although this seems to be incorrect.)
