On front autumn farming scene and verse: "LOVE'S INVITATION \ HARK! hark! the lark at heaven 's gate sings, \ And Phoeb 'gins arise, \ his steeds to water at those springs \ on chaliced flowers that lies, \ And winking Marybuds begin \ To ope their golden eyes, \ with everythi that pretty bin, \ My lady sweet arise, \ Arise, arise! \ SHAKESPERE." On back oval piece of paper stuck on, floral design, white and yellow. c. Padded card split apart, matches b. On front Winter farming scene and verse: "LOVE \ Love dearest lady, such as I would speak, \ Lives not within the humour of the eye; Not being but an outward phantasy, \ That skims the surface of a tinted cheek, Else it would wane with beauty and grow weak, \ As if the rose made summer, an so he \ Amongst the perishable things that die, \ In like the love which I wou give and seek; \ Whose health is of no hue to feel decay, \ With cheeks decay, that have a rosy prime. \ Love is its own great loveliness alway \ And takes n lustre from the touch of time, \ Its boughs own no December and no May, \ But bear its blossom into winter's clime. \ THOMAS HOOD." On back oval piece of paper stuck on, floral design, red and blue flowers (rose and forget-me-nots).
