Circular wooden box with flat base and tightly fitting lid. Circular carved detail to lid. Circular paper label adhered to lid with handwriting in ink; 'H.M.S./ Hecla'. Paper label adhered to inner base with handwriting in ink; 'Part of H.M'. Hecla/ Captain Sir W. Edw Parry, Arctic Explorer./ Capt. Roe RN.'. Probably a relic made from the salvaged wood of the HMS Hecla (1815).
