2 Notebooks containing knitting patterns.
[.a] Red covered notebook: 'MEMO'. Handwritten instructions for knitting machine T1985.125. Inside: 'Knitting/ Instructions' and ' Mary Middleton'. P1: Winding yarn and threading up machine; P4: Points to remember; P6: Instruction for knitting; P9: On various stitches...then book filled with specific patterns or records of particular people's clothes, e.g. baby booties, Eunice's Bathers, My dress, Bruce's blue jumper etc. No dates. Knitting machine came without operating instructions or patterns.
[.b] Red covered notebook: 'Journal' similar to [.a]. Some patterns dated e.g. 'Frank's brown 3 ply (jumper) 26.1.56'. Last 2 patterns are 'My green cardigan 1965' (in collection as CH1985.33) and 'Frank's Brown 1970', which Mr Middleton still wears.
