BOOK MARK
CH1983.189
Wooden book mark (originally thought to be miniature paper knife) with leaf design handle and leaf like blade.
Addition 3.12.97:
The page of a book would be slipped between the two leaf shapes that comprise the main body of the book mark. A pair of tri-pointed leaves - possibly grape leaves, since there is a bunch of grape-shaped fruit hanging beneath would mark the reader's page.
