CHATELAINE
CH1970.570
Alteration 12.5.98:
The component that is described as 'what appears to be a thread holder' on old/current display label may actually be a tiny tape measure. A member of the public saw the chatelaine on 7th May 1998 and said that she had on very similar, and that is included a fine, fragile cloth tape measure which could be wound in and out of a small slot in the side of the cylinder.
