Given to Mrs. Povey (nee Stevens) when she left Bon Marche to be married in 1922. Scenes and characters from Dickens' novels around edge, inside and out. Cream background painted mainly in green and browns. Green around top and around edg of base. On base and in brown: "COPYRIGHT \ ROYAL DOULTON \ (Dickens) \ DICKEN WARE \ ENGLAND". Hand- painted (green): D 2973 \ N".
