Rectangular stitch bound diary with blue marbled paper cover. Paper pages with gold foil edging and rounded corners. Makers label adhered to back cover, green with black printed font; 'HENRY PENNY'S / PATENT / Improved Metallic / Books / BEST PREPARED PAPER / WARRANTED IF WRITTEN ON WITH HIS / PREPARED PENCILS / TO BE AS PLAIN & DURABLE AS INK / They will be found as great advantage / to Travellers and all persons who wish / to preserve their Writing/ G136'. Handwritten diary entries and poetry in pencil and ink to several of the diary pages.
