[.3, .4] note: handwritten, two pages on lined paper:
First page: 'to grow sandalwood (sic)/ put the seeds into hot wood ashes for/ 5 or 10 minutes then bury in/ uncultivated land with grass/ or small shrubs near each nut/ do not bury very deep but deep enough for the nuts to...?'
Second page: 'The young sandalwood plant/ is a parasite and its roots/ live on the roots of grass and/ shrubs therefor (sic) it must be planted near something to/ nourish it during the first/ 2 or 3 years of its growth/ From E Hessalls? report on growth/ of sandalwood.'
