WATER BAG, in Leather Holder
H1992.60
Light brown canvas water bag with cork. One side is printed with a red line across its width, the reverse also but with printing (difficult to decipher) above the line and a large 'D' above a small 'T' in a triangle below. A length of weathered pole, probably from a mop handle, is threaded two loops at the top of the bag forming a handle.
A leather sleeve, scooped in shape at its upper edges like the neckline of a baby's bib, is hung from the wooden 'handle' by leather cords, protecting the bag but not supporting its weight (leaving space between for air flow). Rope by which to hang the bag is looped onto the wooden handle.
