MOVAD GLASS ADVERTISING SIGN - 'BRAHAM BROS, DENTISTS'
H1996.107
Circular painted glass advertisement inscribed 'BRAHAM BROS/ DENTISTS/ PADBURY'S BUILDINGS/ OPP. G.P.O/ FORREST PL.E.'. The advertisement features the smiling face of a young, blond woman with perfect teeth and red lipstick. Painted in full colour, she is placed against a blue backdrop surrounded by the business name in clear font against a cream background.
The advertisement is a "movad", a pivoting sign containing a pendulum which causes the image to shift when activated by the swaying of the tram in which it is displayed.
Note: piece of old newspaper glued to centre of image on reverse - shows woman (x2) and inscriptions such as 'Whirlwind Money', 'QUICK, EASY/ PROFITS'. Purpose unknown - but possibly to darken centre of main image.
