LOCOMOTIVE STEAM WHISTLE

H1993.25

Brass object weighing roughly 3-4kg. Consisting of a spring and lever operated valve at the base (steam inlet connection) where an iron lever 18.5cm long pivots upon pulling by wire or rope, to let steam out. The steam travels through the base up through a thick brass hemisphere where the 'shell' makes the shrieking more distinctive. The shell is adjustable i.e. it screws up and down along rod and maintenance is easy with all parts removeable.
