MAGAZINE, Austen SMG, -2-
H1993.363
These pressed sheetmetal box magazines hold twenty eight 9mm pistol cartridges. They are fitted with a die cast alloy "collar" 6.5 cm from the mouth of the magazine. This collar allows for a good grip when inserting or removing the magazine from the sub-machine gun. It also acts as a stop.
Marks: An alloy "collar" is 'AUSTEN'/ DC' (DIECASTERS) on one side and on the opposite side is '28 ROUNDS/ 9MM'. On the base of the magazine is a button. On the base plate is an arrow and 'OFF'. This button allows the dismantling of the internal spring of the magazine.
