Antlered isopod
Agostodina munta
The strikingly 'antlered' isopod is an obscure species with little known of it's behaviour or ecology.
Morphology
Dorso-ventrally flattened body with body segments splayed outwards. The forked 'antlers' are the modified basal segments of the second antenna. The legs are short and held beneath the body.
Habitat
Marine
Shallow water, found under stones amongst sandy/shelly grit
Distribution
Western Australian endemic known only from the Montebello Islands
