ROPE MAT, framed

Label inside frame reads: This mat of the last sailing-ship era was in use for some 34 years (1920-1954). It is all hand-plaited and sewn from pure manila hauser rope-yarns. The double plaited sennit is over 60 ft long and is made into the "Ocean Wave" knot; the single plaited sennit is over 120 ft long and sewn into "roses" and single "waves".
