Drawing of the cup to be presented to Stirling (see CH73.209) followed by: "PRESENTED / to / Capt. Sir James Stirling, R.N. / First Governor of the Colony of Western Australia / BY THE RELATIVES & FRIENDS OF THE SETTLERS / AT SWAN RIVER, / In testimony of their admiration of the Wisdom, Decision and / Kindness uniformly displayed by him, and of their Gratitude for / his Strenuous Exertions with the Colonial Department for the / Benefit of of that Settlement. / London, May 1833. / The above Inscription is Engraved on this side of the Cup, and on the / opposite side are the Governor's Arms with Naval Emblems. / This Cup will contain four Quarts. - Weight 96oz. / J. Cross, Lithog. 18, Holborn." The reverse side lists the subscribers to the cup. "Those Gentlemen whose names are marked with a Star were the Committee". They are: Bland. Thos. Bedford Row Bickley, Sam. Lloyds Coffee House Bishop, George Jewry Street Crofs, Joseph Holborn Gouger, Robt. New Broad Street Habgood, Thos.
