"Pair old Nankin Plates decorated in blue under glaze, red, crimson & green with bowl, vase & scroll. Kea-King period." Triangle- work blue diaper border at outside edge followed by floral border with pink & blue scroll shape another diaper border at side & main design in centre. Mainly blue and slightl gilt. Symbol of rhinoceros' horns to left of scroll, emblem of happiness. Ref Gulland (1911:page 33 & page 42). b. Less finely painted than a. Ann Roberts: A pair of underglaze-blue and 'famille-rose' octagonal Plates, ea with precious objects within formal and floral borders.
