'Scale: Approximately 1/6 full size.
Scraped all gold paint off unit, filled down screw heads to make them less conspicuous, cut excess from bolts.
Remodelled the turntable which was originally two flat plates of galvanised iron.
Replaced some broken woodwork and stained with jarrah stain.
Made new brake blocks in Jarrah. Painted all the metalwork with Tauric acid to darken it.' - Bob Paton.
