STOVE, Gas, (Parkinson)

Black cast iron sides and back. White enamelled inset on door with 'THE/ LIVERPOOL' in top centre. Rest of stove front and top, simulated marble enamelling in black and white. Stands on very short legs (14cm). Metal tray slides across opening in base of oven. Enamelled panels inside oven holding in insulation on all sides.
2 oven burners on either side. Damper control in centre front above door. 3 hot plate burners and rotating grill burner. 2 grill trays - one original (with cylindrical handle), other more recent. Two racks in oven supported on hinged frames which can be removed for easy cleaning of oven sides. Wooden oven door knob. Raised in cast iron on top, front of oven: 'THE PARKINSON STOVE CO (AUSTRALIA) LTD'. (The Parkinson Co. opened an office in Perth in 1929).
