Seaman's indenture & Master's Certificate belonging to Francis Robert WATSON, born 1862 in Manchester, England. In 1896, when in W.A., he obtained "Master's Certificate of Competency \ No. 07 \ Western Australia \ the Colonial Passengers' Act 1861 & Amendment Act \ ...at Fremantle .... \ This 15th Day of January, 1906" and overleaf, having passed the appropriate examination on 6th Dec 1905 at Fremantle. Watson served with the State Steamship Service as 1st & 2nd officers aboard SS Eucla, SS Kwinana & Bambra between 1918 and 1919, & died 1942. Copy negative of Mr Watson is being taken (photo to be returned to Mrs H. Watson).
