PROOF PENNY, Australia

A bronze proof penny (1d). The obverse features a young bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right with the lettering '+ ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRATIA · REGINA · F:D:' and the mintmark 'MG' incorporated into the base of the bust. The reverse features a Kangaroo leaping to the left with a federation star under it's head and the date under it's tail, with 'AUSTRALIA' at the top and 'PENNY.' at the bottom. The mintmark 'KG' is above the Kangaroo's tail. This coin displays medal alignment and has a smooth edge.
