PEARL SHELLS, x 2, large, cream, polished, Pinctada Maxima

Two large, cream, polished shells. From the Pinctada Maxima species of pearl oyster. Very clean, well formed and lustrous, with few imperfections.
[1] Slightly larger than 2. Circular/oval shape with one straight edge. Interior side of shell is predominantly cream, though iridescence also creates shades of pink and green. Interior bears small ridges and divets, particularly towards centre, likely created naturally by the oyster. Slight scratching to the surface. Exterior side is rougher, bearing larger scratches/ cracks and six small holes. Similar iridescent cream colour to interior, but accompanied by faint yellow semicircular stripes progressing from top circular edge down to centre of shell.
[2] Smaller and slightly more rounded than 1. Circular/oval shape with one straight edge. Interior side of shell is predominantly cream, though iridescence also creates shades of pink and green. Interior bears small ridges and divets, particularly towards centre, likely created naturally by the oyster. Four very small chips along interior edge. Exterior side is rougher, bearing larger scratches/ cracks and two small holes. Similar iridescent cream colour to interior, but accompanied by semicircular ridges progressing from top circular edge down to centre of shell.
