Printed on back: "WA's team who played South Australia in their inaugural Sheffield Shield match at the WACA on November 15-17, 1947. WA scored 444 in its first innings and dismissed SA for 109 and 211 to win by an innings and 124 runs with a day spare. Members of the team were: Back row: G.Robinson, T.Outridge (12th man). F.Buttsworth, W.Langdon, C'Puckett, K.Cumming, D.Watt. Front row: L.Bandy, A.Edwards, K.Carmody (captain), T.O'Dwyer, C.Kessey (wicket-keeper)."
