Round, bronze coloured medallion. Obverse; in relief a Roman chariot drawn by four horses (quadriga) & 'BM' to bottom left edge. The design of the obverse by Sir Bertram Mackennal is replicated from the 1908 London Olympic Games medal. Reverse; Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament encased in a half circle above ' XIV OLYMPIAD / LONDON 1948 ' and the Olympic rings.
