FOOT STOOL

H2002.85

Foot stool made from seven cans (six grouped around a central can) and covered in thick, heavy weave beige cotton fabric. The top of the footstool is edged with orange braid, tied in a bow between two of the cans. The fabric appears originally to have had a motif of large orange roses, but these are only faintly visible in a few small parts of the stool. Braid is stitched onto top of cushion with orange thread. Thin layer of padding is underneath top cover of stool. Base of stool is covered in cream calico, which is stitched on with orange thread. The outlines of the cans have made grey marks on the base, and in some places the base is wearing away.
