BADGE, Nuclear Disarmament

H1989.719

Circular badge with metal backing, paper picture and plastic covering. On the back is a pin to enable it to be attached to clothes. The badge depicts a picture of Australia in white, roughly drawn. It has a dark blue background and red border. The border forms the outside of a peace sign and the remaining arms of it are superimposed on the remainder of the picture. This type of badge is made as a fund raiser and to raise awareness of the issue of nuclear disarmament by local groups. It was sold by People for Nuclear Disarmament and may also have been made by them. It was worn by Ann Delroy in the early 1980's.
