Handset (black bakelite) fits onto side of brown painted wooden upright box. Front of box is operating panel: across top, six black shutters release to reveal "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6"; across bottom, six plugholes labelled "1" to "6", and also labelled (in hand by biro on slide-in paper) "Sister", "Matron", "L.W.", "CAS", (1 unlabelled), "Exch."; six plugs (with thread at front).
