STATIONERY

CH1984.263

(a) Writing paper with W.A. Museum letterhead. White paper with black lettering across top of page. Telephone 28 4411 (W.A. Govt. crest) WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM, Beaufort Street, PERTH, Western Australia 6000. (b) W.A. Govt. Crest, "With The Compliments of the Director" and WAM address bottom LH corner. White with black lettering. This ceased to be used in early 1971 when the W.A. Govt. changed the crest. It was replaced by a plain letterhead CH84/264 until the Museum designed its own logo in 1982. The telephone number dates this paper from the 1950s when a number prefix replaced a letter prefix but the same design of letterhead may have been used much earlier.
