Inscriptions: Signed and dated: lower left corner: "G.A.D.F.", lower right corner "19.681", on hotel: "F. Caesar Richmond Hotel" and "F. Caesar Richmond Hotel Proprietor". Flag, upper left "F.R.C.", ie Fremantle Rowing Club. Subject Matter: Vi of front of hotel room and adjoin- ing house, backing onto Swan River. Biography: See CH72.427 Frederick Caesar 1838 to 1904, owned "The Cottage", Cantonment Road, and had a wayside license for it as "Richmond Hotel", see bibliog. Other: The site of the Richmond later became the Bridge Hotel which was demolished in 1965. Tom Smith, GADF's brother in-law had a tailoring business in Caesar's Hotel.
