Subject Matter: Portrait of the "Catalpa", illustrating the escape of the Fenians in April 1876, pursued by the British ship "Georgette." Biography: E.N. Russell of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Other: "Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1876, by E.N. Russell, in the Office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington." The Forbes Lithograph Manufacturing Co Boston. NOTE: When on display to be acknowledged as follows: "Presented by an Anonymous American in recognition of kindness shown to him and his colleagues by the Director and Deputy Director of the Western Australian Museum, 1971."
