ITALIAN RETICELLA WORK
CH1972.45.a
Both samples reputed to be Greek Grove clothes. Purchased in Greece. Style is similar to that of Venetian Reticella lace - this is accounted for by the fact that the Greek Ionian Islands formed part of the Venetian Republic at this period. This type of lace is known indiscriminately as "Greek Lace" or Italian Reticella Work.
