SKIN GLOVES, Lady's

CH1970.39

Addition 8/9/89: Handstitched. Large for a lady's glove. May have belonged to a man. It would have come to just above the elbow. The skin is very fine and yellow. May be chicken skin (called Limerick).
There are three lines of pointing on the back of the glove hand. There is a band of pink fabric around the top of each glove. There is an insert along the inside arm and hand of each glove, edged in the same fabric as the top band and filled with crochet in a scallop shape in the same colour. The insert starts at the palm in front of the thumb, curves around the thumb then continues to the top of the glove widening all the time. It is about 1cm wide at the palm and 3-4cm wide at the top.
