Margaret ex Nordstjernen wreck

The Margaret was originally built as the 1135 ton 3 masted wooden barque Nordstjernen, by Brunchorst and Dekke of Bergen, Norway. Little is known of the ship’s history, though it was hulked in Sydney in 1896 and was employed as a coal hulk in Albany from 1901 until sometime in the late 1930s. The Margaret was burnt to the waterline at Swarbrick’s Beach east of Albany, to allow salvage of the copper alloy bolts in the hull.
