Zeewijk Wreck
Replica of bronze Breech-loading swivel gun. Ship cannon. Dutch (Middelburg). The chase bears in relief the cipher of the Zeeland Chamber of the VOC (ZVOC); the second reinforce is stamped witht the control mark of the foundry of Middelburg, the capital of the province of Zeeland, and the number 182A, the eight in Amsterdam pounds (1 ‘pond’ = .494 kg), is incised just in front of te breech opening.

Zeewijk
The Zeewijk built in Netherlands, by VOC, owned by VOC. The Zeewijk cargo was Coins, general cargo. The Master of the Zeewijk was Jan Steins, the Zeewijk had a crew of 212. The Zeewijk was lost 1727/06/09 at Houtman Abrolhos, Gun Island.
Zeewijk was wrecked on the Houtman Abrolhos, on 9 June 1727. The survivors built a second ship, the Sloepie, enabling 82 out of the initial crew of 208 to reach their initial destination of Batavia on 30 April 1728. The Zeewijk did not break up immediately and goods, including the treasure chests, were transferred to Gun Island, it was obvious to the crew that the ship could never be floated...
