Identification:

  • Slender, turriform (high spired) shell (height 6mm to 11mm)
  • Shell tip (protoconch) with incised spiral lines
  • Shell sculpture of radial ribs
  • Aperture usually with thin, straight outer lip
  • Umbilicus evident as small crack.

Morphological Distribution: Northern Australia. In Western Australia it occurs as far south as the Pilbara region.

Molecular (COI) Distribution: 55km linear distribution across Pilbara.

SRE Status: We currently regard this as a widespread species.
