Sarah McColmont & Samuel Gardiner , born in norther Ireland, married 27/7/1899 on the Island of Magee. They moved with three boys to Ardrosson, Scotland. A further 9 children were born there, and the thirteenth child born in WA. Robartsons of Merriden nominated the Gardiner's to Australia. Samuel and three sons, James, Thomas and Samuel Jnr embarked on the ‘Euripides'. arrived in Albany W.A 28/7/1922. They proceeded to Nangenan. With the arrival of wife Sarah and nine children on the ship ‘Berrima' on 3/12/1923, the family moved to the Wilgoyne area. They had cleared nearly 1000 acres and forced off by the end of 1929.

Samuel and Sarah were my great grandparents. My grandmother was Mary twin to Joseph. I have old photos of Mary. If there is any other information I'd really appreciate it reading it. Especially photographs.

Samuel and Sarah were also my great grandparents. My grandfather being George, the youngest of their childeren who was born in WA, who later moved to SA.

Samuel and Sarah were also my great grandparents. My Grandmother was Jeanie who married William Robartson and their first son was my father Hugh Robartson.

Sarah was born at Mullaghboy, Islandmagee on 2 May 1882 to Hugh McCalmont, son of John, & Sarah McNeilly, daughter of James. Hugh & Sarah were married in 2nd Presbyterian Church, Islandmagee on 21 November 1879.
I am attempting to connect this family with my McCalmont family.

Samuel and Sarah Gardiner were my maternal grandparents. Their 13 children were: James, Jean, Samuel, Thomas, Sarah (fondly known as 'Sadie'), Robert, William, Mary & Joseph (twins), Lucinda (Lucy), Victor & Violet (twins) and George (with George being the only child born in Australia). I was very fortunate to have known all of them and many of their children etc., and as I write this, I am looking at a treasured family photograph of them (George isn't in the photograph because it was taken circa 1920 in a professional photographer's studio in Ardrossan, Scotland several years before George was born.
Sarah and Samuel's remains lie together in Merredin, Western Australia.
I also knew some of the Robartsons and hope that next time I visit this webpage someone else will have left some further information to help flesh things out further. Cheers for now.

Samuel and Sarah's daughter, Mary (twin sister of Joseph), who married Noel Horobin, had three children (all of whom I knew/know, being: Pauline (dec.), Barbara and George. Barbara married a man (named Marcel) from Switzerland. I met Marcel and Barbara's eldest child many years ago in Perth, Western Australia in the 1980s? As far as I know, neither Pauline nor George have any children.

I must have met you as I was the eldest child of Barbara and Marcel. Pauline and George never had children. Does anyone know why my Aunt Pauline died?
