Wietze and Johanna married in Diemen in 1943. Wietze went to Indonesia in 1947. Johanna followed in 1948 with daughters Helene and Gerda. Son Wietze was born in Batavia that year. They returned to the Netherlands in 1950 and were happy to migrate to Australia in 1953.
